| Beat Weibel & The Backyard Orchestra - The Silvery Moon Born 1961 in St.Gallen (Switzerland), Beat Weibel has got his first music lessons at the age of 6 on the flute, changed with 9 to the clarinet and got his first perfomance experiences in a number of local brassbands. Like almost every kid in the late 70ths he changed with 16 to the electric guitar and joined at the very beginning the so called NEUE DEUTSCHE WELLE as a member of the legendary band DLÜ. Soon he changed the instrument again, this time to the tenor saxophone. 1981 he started his studies at the Jazz School of St.Gallen and gratuated successfully 1987. During the 90ths he played with various ensembles - Jazz-Combos, Bigbands, Salsabands, Solo - on european festivals like the World Beat Festival Berlin, Tollwood Festival Munich, Euro-Pop Freiburg im Breisgau, Open Air St.Gallen, International Jazzfestival Willisau, Jazzfestival Schaffhausen... In the new century his musical work led him to the USA, Australia, New Zealand, China, Russia and Japan.
